Falduto Rosa's resignation was accepted by a decree signed by Cristina Kirchner. He also resigned as Vice President Alberto Rabinstein. The Government appointed the former holder under the Competition José Sbatella.




The chairman and deputy chairman of the Financial Intelligence Unit, and Alberto Rosa Catalina Falduto Rabinstein Moses, resigned their positions in the agency responsible for investigating money laundering and terrorist financing operations. The Government appointed to the main office of former Minister of Defense of Competition, Joseph Sbatella.

The resignations were accepted in two decrees signed by President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, the chief of staff, Anibal Fernandez and Justice Minister Julio Alak, which were published today in the Official Gazette.

Falduto had been appointed in the office by 26 December 2006 and shall remain in office until his successor is appointed, while acting as Rabinstein body number 2 since March 30, 2007.

The FIU works with autarky under the Ministry of Justice, Security and Human Rights was created from the Law No. 25.246 of Concealment and Laundering of Criminal Assets.

By that standard, enacted in 2000, was entrusted to the Unit "analysis, processing and transmission of information for the purposes of forestalling and preventing money laundering from a number of serious crimes."

Later his duties were expanded from about 26,268 law terrorist conspiracies and terrorist financing, approved in 2007. Thus, the FIU took charge of operations analysis also suspected of financing terrorism.
